NCL’s Asia Pacific boss Steve Odell has praised the Singapore Tourism Board for growing the cruise market in the ASEAN region.
“I’m full of praise for what the Singapore Tourism Board is doing to grow cruise business, not just in Singapore but throughout the region.
“STB has taken a leadership role in cruise development for the benefit of all of us operating in the ASEAN region,” Mr Odell told Travel Weekly Asia.
He added that the Indian cruise market has great potential for Norwegian Cruise Line.
Mr Odell who is NCL’s senior vice president and managing director Asia Pacific said that the 4-5 night cruises from Singapore are a great fit for the Indian market which will be given extra attention by the line.
Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) late last year appointed Jiali Wong from STB as its new regional manager for Asia based in Singapore. Ms Wong has been seconded from STB where she headed the Cruise Business Development team and forged greater interest in the cruise industry.
