Heavy monsoon rainfall has led to massive flooding in Myanmar which left scores dead and many more seeking shelter.
Sagaing and Magwe divisions near Bagan have been severely affected, with many villages under water. With many thousands of village people now homeless without food supplies, river cruise line Pandaw will dispatch its ship Kalay Pandaw, laden with 100 tonnes of rice and a full medical team from its charity Pandaw Clinics. The Kalay, which has a draft of only 2.5 foot, will be able to penetrate inland areas to deliver food and medical aid.
As Pandaw said:”We have the ships, team and generous supporters to be able to be the first in and the last out.”
Pandaw is appealing to readers to help the people of Myanmar in their moment of need.
