Princess Cruises, one of the most popular cruise lines in Asia, has launched a booking service for Southeast Asian cruisers.
The new portal is designed to make researching and booking cruises easier and more convenient. And this is a first for the cruise line in the region.
“Since beginning homeport cruising from Singapore three years ago, we have seen an increase in the number of repeat cruisers and our website aims to attract these guests who will find our online booking services easy-to-use and interactive,” said Farriek Tawfik, the director of Princess Cruises for Southeast Asia.
“The digital age has brought a surge in travel-related online activity and we believe Internet savvy travellers in Asia are ready for a direct online booking capability.”
Currently, guests in mature cruise markets like Australia, the United Kingdom and North America are already able to book cruises online.
“This does not in any way, change the important role that travel agents play as they continue to provide valuable resources to our guests and remain the mainstay of our business. Travel agents have supported us throughout this time and we will continue to build on our strong relationships with them,” said Mr Tawfik.
Mr Tawfik said the online channel is recommended for guests who have complex itineraries such as those requiring airline bookings, pre and post accommodation, ground transport and visa applications.
