Singapore and Thailand are to work together to provide more cruise industry opportunities between the two countries after signing an MoU.
The Singapore-Thailand Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Cruise Tourism was signed by Singapore’s Minister for Trade and Industry, Lim Hng Kiang, and Thailand’s Minister for Tourism and Sports, Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul.
The MoU includes cooperation in conducting joint cruise workshops, encouraging the exchange of information and also encouraging cruise tourism and development in the two countries.
Thailand’s Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha visited the Marina Bay Cruise Centre.
The signing of the MoUs came at a fitting time, as 2015 marks 50 years of diplomatic relations between Singapore and Thailand.
