More ships are being based out of Southeast Asian destinations to meet the growing cruise demand from the local market.
This cruise season, Princess Cruises will base its first ship out of Singapore, with Sapphire Princess conducting a series of two- to- five-day cruises.
The vessel will add 2,670 beds a night in Southeast Asia over the five month period.
Meanwhile, the Mekong also received a brand new luxury vessel with the launch of Aqua Mekong last month. The river ship is just one of four new vessels launching on the popular river. The others are scheduled to set sail next year.
