Star Cruises’ maiden journey to Puerto Princesa

SuperStar Aquarius made its first port of call to Puerto Princesa in Palawan Island in the Philippines. The island’s local community welcomed the ship’s arrival with a colourful cultural performance attended by local tourism authorities and business leaders.
Passengers from Malaysia, Taiwan, Singapore, China and Hong Kong were given a welcome souvenir to mark the celebrations.
Aquarius, a 13-storey ocean liner, is part of Star Cruises fleet. Star is a leading cruise line in Asia Pacific.
During the celebrations, Puerto Princesa mayor Lucilo “Cecil” Bayron presented the “key to the city” to Star Cruises senior vice president, sales, Michael Goh. Palawan’s Governor Jose Alvarez was also present.
Aquarius has recently home-ported at Kota Kinabalu for the second season. It will remain home-ported in KK until March next year, making 14 port calls to Puerto Princesa, known for its pristine beaches, coral reefs and the UNESCO world heritage site, the Subterranean River National Park.
