Star Cruises tantalising the tastebuds with new fare

Star Cruises’ SuperStar Libra is on track to become as exotic as the destinations she visits.

This week, her award-winning chefs unveiled a menu of Asia’s finest dishes that promises to “tantalise the tastebuds of local and international travellers”.

Home-ported in Penang, Malaysia – with stops in Phuket and Krabi, Thailand – SuperStar Libra will present the ASEAN region in very favourable light.

“Our home port is a melting pot of cultures and has one of the most diverse food fare, making it the ultimate food paradise,” tells Ang Moo Lim of Genting Hong Kong Limited.

Star Cruises is also the first cruise line to be awarded halal certification for two of its restaurants, Spices Restaurant and Blue Lagoon – both onboard SuperStar Libra.

Located on deck 10, Spices Restaurant specialises in truly Asian flavours. Guests are wowed by the experimentation of flavours and even the updated interpretation of dishes. SuperStar Libra’s sous chef Rashidi bin Mohd, for example, has made ‘udang galah kuzi’ his own by using big-head prawns.

Also on deck 10, Blue Lagoon provides even more delicious Asian food. At any time of the day, passengers can order fish-head curry, grilled marinated chicken or beef skewers and Hainanese chicken rice.
