The boutique cruise brand Windstar is set to deploy the Star Legend to Asia during summer of 2017-18. The cruises will depart from Hong and Singapore and is perfect for clients who are looking for a bespoke cruising experience.
Itineraries will include 14-day sailings from Singapore to Hong Kong via Malaysia, Borneo, Brunei and the Philippines. There is also another itinerary from Hong Kong to Beijing which includes calls at ports in Taiwan, Japan and mainland China. This cruise will span over 14 days.
Windstar will also be offering 14 and 10 day itineraries covering Japan and South Korea. And for those looking for a holiday getaway, Windstar will also be offering a special Christmas and New Year’s Eve roundtrip sailing from Singapore to Malaysia and Thailand.
Earlier this year, Windstar created a new outreach for travel agents to get a better understanding of its brand. Vice president of sales and markting Joe Duckett said the company is looking at more education for agents as well as a new emphasis on responses and agent services for group sales.
“We’re a small company that’s been focused on fleet expansion,” Mr Duckett said. “Now that the new ships are in the fleet, our focus is on our partners and our channels.”
Windstar doubled its fleet in the past two years with the addition of three 212-passenger ships from Seabourn, renamed the Star Pride, the Star Legend and the Star Breeze.
The line is setting up three tiers of its new program – product quality, agent education as well as familiarisation cruises. In addition, the line will expand its online academy to teach agents about the products.
